Description: This dataset includes parcels that are currently protected from development through public ownership, private ownership, or protection mechanisms such as easements. It is primarily based on the 2018 Vermont Protected Lands Database (VPLD). The VPLD was designed to facilitate land-conservation planning and related efforts in Vermont. Using data from the Town of Hinesburg, in 2020, Native Geographic, LLC added private lands that were conserved in 2019 to this database and consolidated overlapping parcels in the VPLD and Town datasets.Parcel boundaries depicted in the database are from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to, surveys, digital tax maps, and photo interpretation.
